Street painting

Bring your brand, product or event to life in a unique way with an 3d street painting. Our floor paintings attract a lot of attention and lend themselves perfectly as an original advertising and communication tool in the outdoor space. With spatial insight, creativity, paint and a piece of street, our street painters create unforgettable works of art in the public space that the public can enjoy for free.

Optical illusion through a street painting

An 3D street painting is often used to create an optical illusion with perspective and shows an 3D effect such as a hole in the ground or an upright realistic object at the right viewing angle. An 3D painting sometimes looks strange and distorted, so the three-dimensional effect can only be seen when viewed from the right viewing point.

With a normal (2D) ground painting we can make an image, logo or product visible on the ground. These paintings look the same from every angle and are visually comparable to the effect of floor stickers. Our floor paintings always ensure a 'wow' effect and are ideally suited as an eye-catcher during (brand) activations, fairs, events or (product) presentations.

Temporary and semi-permanent paintings

Because we make our base paintings with water-based acrylic paint, these are semi-permanent. The service life is difficult to determine in advance because it depends on the substrate, the weather, the location and the load due to traffic and cleaning services, for example. If desired, we can always remove a ground painting with a hot-water high-pressure cleaner, it is also possible to opt to have the painting wear out.

It is also possible to make a street painting on a floor sticker or wooden intermediate layer so that it can be used indoors during an event, exhibition or open day. A temporary painting on street stickers can also be used outside, whereby it can be removed again after 1 or several days.

Paintings and social media

The nice thing about an 3D street painting is that the public can be part of it. By standing in the right places it seems as if you are absorbed in the painting and, for example, you stand on the edge of a deep canyon or walk on a rope ladder above the water. Partly because of this, pictures of the paintings are often shared on social media.

How does an 3D painting with optical illusion work?

You have probably seen it once on the street or on the internet, a ground painting in which the illusion is created of a torn ground with an abyss there, an object that seems to stand upright or something that comes up from the ground. This form of optical deception is called anamorphosis or anamorphic and is the key to creating one optical illusion.

When applying the design we use a formula that calculates how the design should be distorted for the desired 3d effect from the chosen viewpoint. In practice, this means that a ground painting with optical illusion is often stretched enormously. Because of this deformation, when creating an 3d street painting, a minimum ground surface area of approximately 25 to 30 m² is required.
